Introduction

The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.

Problem

The Tier 4 Interim Aftertreatment SCR Dosing Test does not work properly. Use the following procedure until a permanent fix is in place.

Solution

This test measures the amount of DEF the dosing pump is able to deliver. This test currently does not shutoff the air pressure or clean out the DEF line after completion of the test. After completion of the Aftertreatment SCR System Dosing Test Perform the following steps

  1. Turn the keyswitch to the OFF position. Ensure that all ECMs are powered down.

  1. Reconnect the DEF line to the injector at the CEM

  1. Connect the Cat® Electronic Technician (Cat® ET) Service Tool

  1. Restore power to the generator set ECM

  1. Activate the "Aftertreatment #1 SCR Dosing Air Assist Valve Command Override" to 100 percent via Cat ET.

  1. Activate the "Aftertreatment #1 Diesel Exhaust Fluid Return Valve Override".

  1. Leave the overrides activated for at least one minute.

  1. Reset both overrides to zero percent after one minute.
