The swivel accomplishes two functions. The swivel supplies pump oil from the upper structure to the travel motors of the lower structure. The upper structure swings. The lower structure does not swing. The swivel returns oil from the travel motors to the hydraulic tank.
Housing (1) is bolted to the upper structure. Rotor (4) rotates within housing (9). A support arm is bolted to rotor (4) to prevent rotation. The ports of housing (1) are open to the ports of rotor (4). The passages in housing (1) and the passages in rotor (4) connect the ports.
Seals for high pressure and seals for low pressure are provided between the sliding surfaces of housing (1) and rotor (4). The seals prevent oil leakage between the passages.
