  1. Drain the diesel exhaust fluid into suitable container for storage or disposal.

  2. Remove cover (1).

  3. Disconnect harness assembly (2). Disconnect hoses (3) and (4).

    Note: Do not attempt to pry or pull the tabs out of the connections on hose assemblies as damage will occur. Push down on the fitting and push the tabs inward before pulling up in order to disconnect hose assemblies.

  4. Disconnect hose assembly (5). Remove cable straps (6) and reposition harness assembly (7).

  5. Disconnect hose assemblies (8) and (9).

  6. Disconnect hose assembly (10) and harness assemblies (11).

  7. Disconnect hose (12) and hose assemblies (13).

  8. Remove bolts (14) and (15). Remove diesel exhaust fluid pump assembly (16).

  9. Disconnect all hoses and hose assemblies from diesel exhaust fluid pump (17).

  10. Remove bolts (18) and (19). Remove diesel exhaust fluid pump (17)

  11. Remove cover (20).

  12. Remove expansion device (22) and filter (21).

    Note: Place identification marks on DEF pump coolant connectors (23) and DEF pump connectors (24) for installation purposes. DEF pump coolant connectors (23) and DEF pump connectors (24) are not interchangeable.

  13. Remove DEF pump coolant connectors (23) and DEF pump connectors (24) from diesel exhaust fluid pump (17).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install diesel exhaust fluid pump (17) in the reverse order of removal.

    1. Tighten DEF pump connectors (24) to a torque of 4.5 ± 0.5 N·m (40± 4 lb in).

    2. Tighten DEF pump coolant connectors (23) to a torque of 5.5 ± 0.5 N·m (48 ± 4 lb in).

    3. Tighten cover (20) to a torque of 20 ± 5 N·m (177 ± 44 lb in).

    4. Tighten bolts (18) and (19) to a torque of 19 ± 2 N·m (168 ± 18 lb in).

    5. Apply Tooling (A) to the O-ring seals (not shown) inside hose assembly (5).

    6. Apply Tooling (A) to the O-ring seals (not shown) inside hose assemblies (8).

    7. Apply Tooling (A) to the O-ring seals (not shown) inside hose assembly (9).

    8. Apply Tooling (A) to the O-ring seals (not shown) inside hose assembly (10).

    9. Apply Tooling (A) to the O-ring seals (not shown) inside hose assemblies (13).
