  8. Install and secure air compressor group (1) on the tandem wheel cover using the existing fasteners. Refer to Illustration 3.

Note: Use a suitable lifting device to place the air compressor on the machine.

  9. Inspect the oil level on air compressor group (1). If oil is required, use mineral base non-detergent compressor oil to fill the air compressor group (1).

  10. Ensure that the belt of air compressor group (1) has 1/4 to 3/8 inch movement when applying pressure directly to the belt.

Note: To adjust the tension, loosen the four nuts on the support rods of the air compressor group. Move the upper or lower nuts until the proper tension is achieved and tighten the nuts as required.

  11. Install the appropriate quick couplers on the air compressor group.

Note: If removed, install side panel and back panel on the air compressor group.

  12. Install the 342-9671 Auxiliary Start Receptacle As and 8S-2634 Cover As to the side panel of air compressor group (1).

Secure the parts using 6V-3940 Bolts, four 5C-7261 Nuts, and eight 5P-4116 Hard Washers.

  13. Install the front panel and the lid to air compressor group using the screws that were saved in Step 1.
